Facilitation Tip N°17: The End of Your Session

At the end of a session, some players try to game the system; but Arkhe's games make these moves costly.

At the end of a session, in order to boost their results, some players try to game the system by making decisions that ignore the ongoing continuity of the company. During the final simulation, they think purely in the very short term, unconcerned by the impact of their decisions on the following periods (since there won't be any in the game!).

Yet we expect players to remain mindful of the company's continuity, even during this last round of decision-making.

However, the facilitator has no reason to fear these tactics, because our business games make such moves costly for the company:

  • example 1: Selling off all the machinery would generate damaging capital losses (cash is not profit) 💰❌
  • example 2: Cutting production to reduce inventory would drive up the cost of production. Stored production is not an expense
